Pics from the Choir Performance!

This is when they held hands to walk up to the stage. Colt didn't know what to do, so he started to sit down!! So cute!

So cute just standing there waiting...not sure what he's waiting for...but he's waiting patiently!

This was the moment he saw me...and the rest of us! He was so excited!

A few of the kids were doing the hand motions...the rest of them were doing good just to sing along! It really was fun!

Afterwards, they had a special time for refreshments: cookies and yummy punch! Lindsay, BJ and Hayden tried to make it for the performance, but it started earlier than we thought it would. But, they made it just in time for the refreshments! Hayden wanted to check out the stage. She was ready to do her own performance. The whole night was a lot of fun!

A few pics...

Since I haven't found/made the time to post pics from home, here are a few pics of Colt that I have access to from work. This was at our family reunion back in June! He loved riding the horse...and he especially loved his cowboy hat that his Aunt Cheri gave him. Hudson has a matching one...that is blue! Fun Fun!! Enjoy!

Annoyed!

Yeah, so...I am currently working 8-5 M-F. I am also taking two classes. One that I actually attend and one online. Well, as a lot of you know, my job is VERY slow right now. So slow that my boss is spending time on Solitaire and other games...that is along with taking a lunch and a MILLION smoke breaks! So, I thought that with my free time, I could work on my classes. I figured my boss would rather me spend my free time on school to further my education than playing stupid card games online. Well, I was wrong. I got pulled aside today and asked if I was working on my homework. I said that I was proofing my paper. She said "put your homework away and get to work". That's when I very nicely said "I don't have anything to do". And she said "well, find something to do"!! Can you believe that?! I get reprimanded for reading over a paper....yet she doesn't care less if I play a card game, read a book, or even lay my head down on my desk! Ridiculous if you ask me! I am not very happy with that!

Oh well, what do you do? you work on your homework behind her back!! that's what you do! lol nah, I'm kidding...actually, I'm really not! If I don't have any work to do...then I am going to spend my time furthering my education so that ONE DAY I will no longer have to work at the Title Company! (there! how do you like that!!)

Ok, that's it for now. I'm done complaining/venting! I hope everyone is having a splendid day!

Updates

Ok, so now that you all have the update from the choir performance, I can move on to other things!

Colton starts preschool August 27th! I am BEYOND excited about this! I just think that he will have such a great time...and learn so much...and make so many new friends! I only see positives! I am sad that we will be leaving Ms. Dianne. She has been wonderful to us the past 3 years! Yes, it's been 3 years since I started back to work full time back home. August 16, 2004 was the first day...so she will have watched him for a little over 3 years when we leave! Sad day! But, happy day! This is exciting! This is a good thing! So, I will definitely be posting blogs about what goes on at his school! (I know this is terrible, but I can't wait for them to call me if he gets in trouble. Don't get me wrong, I don't want him to be bad. But I spent the past 2 1/2 years listening to my co-workers put their sons on speaker phone so that we could all hear what happened! It was always hysterical!!) Now, mind you, I might change my mind on that later!

As for me, I started back at school AGAIN this summer. I am taking Human Anatomy & Physiology with Susanna. To be honest...the class is kicking my butt!!! I am also taking a Psychology class...that class isn't bad, it's actually quite simple! We only have about 2 1/2 weeks left of class...Praise God! I'll let you know how that goes!

Let's see, what else? Hmm...oh, Colton's new obsession is collecting cars from the movie CARS. (and when I say obsession...that is EXACTLY what I mean!) He will not stop talking about the cars that he still needs! Nevermind the new cars that are sitting on his floor that he COULD be playing with! No, he is too consumed with "The List" of cars...and telling us which cars he still needs! Let me just tell you, we hear "The List" at least 5 times a day...each! And that's just in the evenings! It's really funny! So, that's his new "hobby". It's actually fun, on my end too. Not the part where I have to shell out $3.99 a car...no, that part isn't fun! But collecting them is! My mom got him a new CARS carmat for his room. He loves it! And my Nana got him a pair of CARS boxershorts. Too cute! I love em!

I can't really think of anything else right now. I have been doing pretty good...with life and stuff. Just taking things one day at a time! Otherwise I get overwelmed and stressed out...and that's not a pretty site!

So, I will try and post pics...in the near future! I'm not going to promise anything...but we'll see!

One More Thing...

Kelsea (Colton's little choir girl friend) was not able to make it. She was sick that day. I was so sad...even more so than Colt! Oh well, it just wasn't meant to be!

He Did It!!

He did it!! Colton sang with his little choir buddies for the production! I know that you guys have been in suspense for 3 months now...so I figured I would fill you in!

He did great! I took him to his classroom and then we (my parents & Susanna) went to where they were going to perform. We waited...and then in they came! Colton was in the front of the line. They were all holding hands. It was precious! They walked up to the front, not too sure about where they were going. Then proceeded up the risers. Colton hadn't practiced on the risers, so he had no idea what he was supposed to do. So, he went to the second one and started to sit down! lol The lady helped him get to his spot. It was so cute! He looked so big yet so little at the same time, you know?

So, once they were all lined up, the teacher introduced them, and then started the music. (we didn't sit on the front row. I didn't want to distract him. We sat on the 3rd or 4th row.) At this point he hadn't seen us yet. They all sang...well, some of them. A lot of the kids just kind of looked around...my child included. The moment he saw me his whole face lit up...and he had the biggest smile! He mouthed "Mommy!" and just looked so cute & excited! I started mouthing the words, so he started singing.

They sang 4 songs in all. And in between each song, Colton would say "Mommy, I need you, Mommy! I need you!" It was precious! The first time people cracked up laughing. The second and third time they started looking around to see who his mommy was. I was so proud!! ;) I'm sure you can imagine!

They all did so good...even on the hand motions. Some more than others! We video taped it, but I don't have the parts to put it on the computer. I thought I did, but it didn't come with it. So, one day, i will post the video. I do have a few pictures. So, maybe, if you guys are lucky...I will post the pics when I get home tonight! ;) (but don't get your hopes up!)

So, that's that update! I hope it was worth the wait! I have never felt more like a mom than I did that night! I was so proud! I can't wait till next time!

Tomorrow's The Big Day

So, tomorrow is the Big Day! Colton's Choir Performance!! I have been so excited and looking forward to it for months, now!! Colton has had practice every Wednesday night. And we have been pretty faithful about going, except when he was sick. Colton loves singing, and he loves going to choir!

So, a couple weeks ago, my mom and I were starting to wonder how he would do getting up in front of everyone. Because lately, he has had a mind of his own! Very stubborn...to say the least. He knows what he wants, and has a one-track-mind about it. So, if he doesn't think he wants to do it, he won't!

So, two Wednesdays ago, I went to pick him up. And the lady pulled me aside and said:
"I just wanted to give you a little heads up. We went to practice on the risors and Colton did not want to leave the classroom to go. He just didn't want to do it. It was almost like he thought that if he left the classroom, his mommy wouldn't know where to find him. So, I just wanted to warn you, that come performance night, there is a chance that he won't want to sing. And I didn't want you to be surprised or upset. This is completely normal at this age. So, don't worry."

Well, I wasn't the least bit surprised! A little sad because I have been looking forward to it. I will say this though, he wasn't the least bit scared that I wouldn't know where to find him! He just didn't want to do it!!! So, I talked to him on the way home and let him know that I wanted him to stand on the stairs with the other boys and girls and sing. That it would make me very happy and proud of him. He said: "ok, I will. I want to stand next to Kelsea!"

So, we shall see! I doubt he will end up doing it, but I will have a little hope! ;) I will definitely give you guys an update!! And if he does do it, I will post pics!
