Me and my Little Man!

Here is the latest picture of me and my little man! We took it after church today! I am going to try and take plenty more over the holidays! I love pictures!!! And I love posting them on my blog, now!!!!

The Cousins!!

Look how cute my sweet boys are! These are the first official pictures of the cousins, Colton & Hudson! Are they precious or what! Colton kept trying to give Hudson his pacifier, and Hudson didn't mind it one bit! They look like best friends sitting next to eachother, with Colton's arm around Hundson!!! I will post them as I get them!!

Well, I finally learned how to upload pictures...it turned out to be quite simple!!! All this time I have wasted, not knowing how! Anyway, this is my little man at the park! He had on a new pair of overalls, which the button popped off right away, so he had to wear one strap off!!! He looked pretty cool! Anyway, he had tons of fun. He is such a big boy. He just jumped right out there, and took over the park like he owned the place. He wasn't scared, or nervous! He knew how to do everything. I was amazed! Here I am, being the mother, nervous for him...keeping my hand close to catch him if he fell, but he didn't even need me there! It was kinda sad! But, I got over it quite quickly! Hope you guys enjoy the pics! Now that I know how to do it, I will put tons more up! Yall have a great day!

RACHEL HAD HER BABY!!!

As I'm sure everybody already knows, Rachel gave birth to a beautiful boy...Hudson Michael Phillips! He is precious!

Is everyone happy now? I keep getting comments about how long Rachel has been in labor. Well, I am in the process of getting a new home computer so that I can update on a regular basis, and download pictures. So guys, bare with me. I am trying to update my life for all of you.

I hope everyone is doing wonderful. We are enjoying the cold weather! I just hope it lasts longer than a couple days!!!

17 days till CHRISTmas!!!! Hooray!!!

Alright, enough from me, back to work!!

Rachel's in LABOR!!!!!!

Well...today it's all happening!! Rachel started having contractions last night about 8:00. They have been progressing through this morning! She has not been admitted into the hospital because her contractions need to be 5 minutes apart and at least 1 minute long for at least an hour. Well, she's got the 1 minute part down, but the 5 minutes has not been consitant. But, we are thinking by later this afternoon she should be ready to go to the hospital and get this show on the road! I will try and update before we leave for the hospital, but I won't promise anything. But, I will definitely update once everything is over and we have a sweet baby boy to hold!!!

Special Time With Dad!

My dad and I went to Wal-Mart tonight. I had to get pullups and facewash, and he had to get a fish for the church library. We took the fish to the church and checked the big aquarium first. It was great! He loves those fish! He takes such good care of them...putting his own hands in there to dig out the yucky food. IT's so cute how he is. Then, we went to the library to deliver the Beta to his new home. We got him in there and he was really a beauty! I mean, he was "strutting his stuff" as my dad said. It was great! I love spending moments like that with my dad. They are so special. I would recommend it to all of you. Make a special call, or visit to say hi to your dad! I know it will mean something to him!

One More Thing...

...I forgot to mention that Colton can count to 13 now!!! He's a Genius!!! Probably the smartest kid since when I was his age!!!! jk Nah, for real, he is super smart. It's great! My plan is for him to be really smart, but also an athlete. I don't want him to be the "nerdy smart guy" or the "dumb jock" so he will be the "quarterback of the football team, homecoming king, president of the senior class and Valedictorian"!! I'm pretty sure he can handle it! he's got about 16 years to get ready for it! Right now he's counting the years...I guess he thinks it will only take him 13 years! He already knows he's smart! Ok, enough from the bragging mother!!! (what am I going to do when I have more children?!?! I will end up spending every ounce of my being just being proud of my kids!! But, doesn't every parent wish the best for their kids and praise their good works and accomplishments? I'm just starting early!)

Ok, I need to get some sleep! Wow, two blogs in one night! That has got to be a record for me! I hope you guys are writing this down! Good Night! ;)

Potter Update!

Well, it's that time again!!! Time for my "MONTHLY" update! Each time I update, I say I will get better about updating, but I don't! So, this time I'm not going to make any promises!!!

As you all know it is now September! Crazy, I know! It seems like just yesterday Lindsay was calling me to tell me she was pregnant, and that was in January!!!! WOW How time flies! Now, she is just a few short weeks away from having her little baby girl...who by the way is nameless to all of us!!! But, I won't even go into that!!! I am so excited for Lin! She will be a wonderful little mommy! It will be fun to share mommy time with her! (in all of my spare time!!! I will find time, I promise!!)

It's also getting nearer my SeaStar, Rachel's, time to have her baby. Less than 2 months and she will also be able to hold her little boy in her arms! I am so excited about being an AUNT!!! I think I will be a good one. At least I will try. I am enjoying my aunt-duties so far! Getting to throw both Rachel and Lindsay a baby shower has been so much fun to plan, and have. Rachel's shower is this coming up weekend...and let me tell you, we have lots of fun things planned! It will be a lot of fun...and she will get lots of nice stuff! I can't wait!!!

Colton is talking like a maniac. He loves his aunts, and wants to play with them, or their boyfriends all the time. He calls Blake, Beka's boyfriend, by his name. It's so cute. I don't think he has quite learned Jarod's or Derek's name fully, but he is working on it. Anyway, he and Blake have such a great time together every time Blake comes over. It is so cute! Colton is all into saying sentences and stuff. He says " 'mon Geka" (that means come on beka) and " 'mon Noonee" (that's susanna). He also says "my mommy" or "my mimi" or "my papa"!! I love it. He is such a cuddle bug!

Today we got his hair cut. He did much better than the last two haircuts! I did bribe him with a whole ziplock bag of grapes! That kept his attention almost the whole time! He's also been a bit of a night owl. Staying up later than usual, and taking shorter naps. i don't mind him staying up later, but the shorter naps have GOT TO GO!!! We all need our alone time! So, he needs to get back on schedule, as far as naps are concerned!

Well, that's it for now. It was a long blog. I'm sure you all are saying "how about a bunch of shorter blogs, instead of one huge blog once a month". Yeah! Yeah! We all have dreams and high hopes...but not all come true!! ;)

Anyways, I will post again soon!!! (notice I didn't say sonner than last time, or closer together! I don't want to get any hopes up!!) Hope you all have a great day, week, and month!

Love,
deb

WHERE DOES THE TIME FLY!!!

It's crazy how time flies. It's already August! WOW! It seems just yesterday it was January. Colton is about to turn two in less than three months. That means that Rach's baby will be here in less than three months. I can't wait to see you Sport!! (that's what we are calling him for the time being. they haven't decided on a name) Boy am I excited about being Aunt Deb! It's one thing to have a child of your own, but to watch your own sister go through pregnancy! It's amazing! I love being on the sideline, just watching, and smiling. Rach is doing great. The little man is due on Colton's birthday, October 30. I can't wait. I think he will be early. Cause he's already so big. I thought Colton would always be the biggest baby, but this little man is trying his hardest to catch up to his big cousin. It's great. I can't wait to see him, and hold him. I know he will be beautiful!

Mom, Rach and I went a couple weekends ago to register for the little man. It was great! I had all kinds of "good advice", but I managed to just voice the most important things. This is Rach's experience. I don't want to butt in and be a know-it-all. It's also nice to get to watch all of this, and not be the one pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I loved being pregnant, but there is no way I could handle another baby right now, along with Colton...even if the circumstances were different. But, whatever! I'm loving it!

Colton is doing good. He's a bit of a toot! He's started this whining business that's so annoying. I hate it! We are working on stopping that nonsense! But, other than that, he is growing up like a weed. He's getting taller and slimming down a bit. He is just so grown up, and he knows it! I love it! Every day he learns some new word or phrase. One hilarious thing is he will stop doing whatever it is he is doing, get right in your face, tilt his head to the side, and say "what? what?" and keep saying it and changing sides of his head tilt! He says it with so much expression! Just like we say it. I wish I could record it and put it on this blog! I know you all would get a kick out of it!

Well, I guess that's enough babbling from me. I know I say I will try and write more often, but who knows. I can only try! Well, hope everyone is doing great!

I HAVE SUCH A SMART KID!!!

I just wanted to give a quick update on my son. He is so smart. He is saying full sentences! But, the biggest thing of all is he can count to 10...all by himself, and he will do it over and over again! How crazy is that! Last night we had little glow-in-the-dark bracelets, and he was playing with them. He had about 6 or so, and he would be counting them, all the way up to 10. It was great. And when he says 7, he says "seden". It's precious! I love him to death!!!

Everything else is going pretty good. We filed with my attorney, and things are underway. Our 60 days should be up towards the end of August, so hopefully we can set our court date for the end of August. That way September will be a fresh start. We'll see.

Well, I have to get back to work. I hope everyone is doing great!

Update on the Family!

Well, where do I begin?! I haven't written a blog in almost a month and a half! Talk about crazy! I have just been so caught up in work and home, I haven't written. I had time to write a few times, but I knew I had a lot to say, but wouldn't have enough time to write it all. So, here goes!

First things First! My sister, Rach, is getting married on June 26th to her boyfriend of three years, Derek Phillips. We are all so excited and happy for them. It's going to be a beautiful wedding. I can't wait.

Beka is in her last semester of cosmotology school. She graduates in August! I am so excited for her. She works at a salon right now, Visible Changes, but she is thinking about working at Toni & Guy instead. I am so happy and excited for her! She has been working very hard. I know that she will do great!

Susanna is in her last summer of highschool. She starts her Senior Year this fall. I can't believe it! She has grown up so fast, without us even realizing. I know it will definitely be a HUGE reality check when we watch her walk across that stage! WOW! I don't think I'm quite ready for that!

Colton is growing up so quickly. He loves being outside! He helps my dad water the yard. I think that's his favorite thing...to hold the hose and water the "pretty flowers" and have my dad water him!!! It's so cute. He has a little pool that he climbs in and out of constantly, putting his toys in and out. He's such a busy player. It's great! He is also in the process of potty training...yes, I know, "he's still so young". Well, when your kid tells you he needs to pooh pooh, don't you take him to the potty. Well, that's what we are doing with Colton. He is a Pro at Dianne's house during the day, but he is having a harder time at home in the evenings. I know that we aren't making it as easy on him since our schedules are so different, but we are slowly getting the hang of it. He is so smart! I am just truly blessed to have such a sweet son...even though he does test my patience often enough! But, without that, it would be boring! Nah, he's a sweetie/cutie! I love him to pieces!

As for me, well a lot has been going on. Most of you know, but for those of you who don't, Caleb and I are getting a divorce. We have been talking about it since January, but went back and forth with our decision until the first of May when we made it final. I am meeting with the attorney this week to get the process started. We want to have everything final before he leaves for Iraq in October. I'm sure you are all asking "why?", well, we are just not happy. We want different things. When we look back at when our relationship started, it was obviously a rocky beginning. And had things been different, we probably would not have gotten married. We do not regret our decision of getting married. It has just not worked out quite as we had hoped. We have not been happy with eachother. And for a while now, have just been sticking it out for Colton. Well, that can only take you so far. After many long talks, we have decided that it's not only the best thing for us, but also for Colton. He needs something steady that he can count on. I don't want him to grow up with parents that fight all the time, so we are avoiding that altogether. Caleb will still be apart of our lives, of course! He will always be Colton's father. It's just that he and I will end our relationship. Please keep us in your prayers, as we will need them immensely! I am sad that it has come to this, but I am excited about what God holds for me and Colton in the future. I know that He holds us in the palm of His hand, and that we will never be alone. As for the near future, I am going to start a couple night classes in the fall. I want to finish my degree, even though it may take a while! And Colton will continue at Dianne's, where I know he is well loved and cared for!

I hope this clears up a lot. I'm sorry I have fallen off the wagon with my blog, I've just been a bit busy! I plan on updating more often. I hope everyone is doing great!

My Favorite Day!

Normally, I am really negative about Wednesdays, but today I won't be. I guess I am excited about Awana's tonight, since it is our last night!!! Woo Hoo! I know my mom and I are chearing about it. Not that we don't enjoy Awana's, we just dread going, but end up having a good time. I know, we just need to suck it up! So yeah, it's our last night tonight.

This weekend is my cousin Daniel's wedding in Dallas. I am excited. I will get to see my favorite cousin David for the first time in almost two years, since I got married actually. So, that will be fun. Also it will be good to see the rest of the fam. We always have a a good time. Plus, it will be the first time for them to see Colton. Only my aunt and cousin Daniel have seen him. So, I will have a lot of showing off to do!!! Since I am soooooo proud of my son!

Caleb is in Louisianna for training this week. He left Monday and will come back really early Saturday morning. He sure is making a name for himself in the Army. For some reason he has really made an impression on them, and they are sending him to all kinds of trainings that only higher rank soldiers go to. So, he's excited about it.

Susanna is doing a school play called "Cinderina". It's a spinoff from Cinderella and Susanna has the lead role. Well, they had a matinee performance yesterday that had lots of bumps in it, but went ok. And she had another matinee today. My dad said it was great. She has one more matinee tomorrow and then the night performance tomorrow night. We are all going tomorrow night. It's going to be great! I can't wait. She is such a cute gal. I know she will be the star!

Well, back to work I go. Talk to you guys later.

Weekend Fun!

Talk about a busy weekend. Well, yesterday we had a Bridal Kitchen Shower for Leah, our Youth Pastor's fiance. It was a blast! But, we spent all weekend preparing for it in one way or another. Friday night, Mom & Colton & I went to Target to get a gift. That is always fun. We just got her trashcan and filled it with all kinds of kitchen goodies! It was great. Then Saturday, my mom had to get the paper goods and all that fun stuff. I spent about 1 1/2 hours cleaning out the inside of my car and detailing it. Man does it look good now. I would've washed the outside, but it was just way to chilly! So, that's on my To-Do-List! Ha Ha! Along with a million other things. So, Saturday was just a day to do stuff around the house. But, Sunday, we went to church, then to lunch. Oh, I almost forgot. Susanna had her prom Friday night. So, Jarrod came over to pick her up and we got tons of pics. They are so cute. She was beautiful! So, that was exciting! Back to Sunday...after lunch,Colton and I went to Walgreen's to print out Susanna's pics from Friday. Then, we went home, I put him down for a nap, and started getting ready for the shower. It was a great shower. She got tons of stuff. I love showers! So, it was a big success. I'm happy for her.

Well, I will try to email pics of Susanna's Prom. She's gorgeous! Have a great week!

Updates on Yesterday!

Well, let me just tell you how smart my son is!!! ;)

He went pee pee in the big boy potty TWO times yesterday at Dianne's house! When she was getting him ready for his nap, and putting a new diaper on him, he started saying "pee pee! pee pee!" So she asked him if he needed to go pee pee and he said "uh huh!" (that is a yes) So, she put him on the potty and he went!!! Then, he went again after his nap. What a smart boy! As you can tell, I am a very proud mother...I am beaming right now!!!

Friday, Caleb might be coming in for the weekend, so we can go together to get him some rubber pants, and training pants. Hopefully we won't even have to mess with pull-ups! Basically, I don't know that much about potty training, so whatever Dianne says, that's what I'm going to do! Cause she knows her stuff. Oh, she took a picture of him going potty for the first time!! That one's going in the baby book!!! WAY TO GO COLTON!!!

Well, I better get to work. Oh, my Sea-Star, Rachel, is in town. She came in town for my dad's birthday. He turns 21 today! Isn't it crazy that we are both the same age! How wierd. Well, Happy Birthday, Daddy! He's so sweet! Well, have a great day, everyone!

Today is the BIG DAY!!!

Today Colton will start the process of "Potty Training"!!! I am so excited! Dianne got the splashguard protector in the mail yesterday, so today they will start. So, last night, we went to Walmart and got a "big boy potty" and I put it together, with Colton's help, last night. He sensed my excitement and became excited! It's so cute. My mom is a bit skeptical. She thinks it's a little too early. Well, it can be done, and as long as he seems interested in it, and is showing plenty of signs, I think he is ready. My dad thinks he is ready, and Dianne definitely thinks he is ready! I told my mom, "Mom, I need to take advantage of Dianne's help with this. I want him to be potty trained by the time the summer gets here, because she will be watching two more kids part-time. And I want all of her attention on him during this. Yes, it will be messy, and at times annoying, but oh well. In the long run, it will be much better!" She just smiled and joked "don't take advantage of her!"

So, I can't wait till 5:00 gets here and we find out how the day went. She has a great plan. I never put much thought into it. I am definitely lucky and blessed to have her!

Well, I hope all of you have a great day. Please keep us in your prayers as we start this grand adventure! Oh, and in case you are wondering why I typed in yellow...just put a little more thought into the contents of today's blog. I think you will get it!!!! ;)

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!!!!

Yup, that's me! You woulda never guessed it! jk Yes, I received this honor at our big quarterly meeting at work on Tuesday night. I got it the best month possible, because every quarter all of the company gets together (about 100 people) and they do the awards...the other months are split up between departments. Anyway, I was very shocked and excited! This was our busiest month ever! We set a new record, 107 closings! Talk about busy! So, it was a great honor!

Big news with Colton...Dianne brought out the "big boy potty" yesterday for him to check out. He went right over to it, lifted the lid and said "pee pee!" What a smart boy! We are going to start potty training him, well she is going to work a lot with him at her house, and we will work with him at our house. I'm very excited. He is already telling us when he is about to go pooh pooh. So, if he knows, it shouldn't be hard. He is so smart, she said it won't take him long at all. And I trust what she says, since she has worked with kids for so long and has done this before. I tell you, she is great! She knows just what to tell you to make you smile even bigger about what a great child you have! I love it! So, she has her camera loaded with film to catch his first time on the potty. I can't wait. I am going to find the same kind to use at our house, that way it's less confusing. Isn't parenting fun! (I know some of you are snickering, knowing the messes that are to come with potty training, but I don't care. I am going into this with a great and positive attitude. I know he's not perfect, but I do know that he will catch on fast! So, ha ha! jk)

Also, he and I have been practicing our ABC's. I say A, then he repeats me, and we go through the rest of the alphabet. When it's just the two of us, he will do it all the way through without getting distracted, but it's a little harder with the family around. He does really well with the letters. He can say most of them, although some are still hard to pronounce. Sometimes he will say the next letter before I say it. Like after we do B, he will say C before I do. He loves the praise, as do all children. I think that's a Key ingredient in teaching and learning. Well, I just love him! He's such a joy (can you tell).

Well, I guess I should get back to work. I hope all of you are doing Wonderful! Have a great rest of the week. Hooray...tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!

Monday, April 18, 2005

Here you go Mom & Rach!!

They get the most mad when I don't update my "blob". So, here you go!!

We went to Dallas this weekend and hung out with Caleb's parents. Zach was there. It was fun watching "the boys" with Caleb. They are all so cute! We had a cookout Saturday...talk about YUMMY!!! and then we just hung out. Sunday, we went to the park and flew a kite! What a rush! It was great.

Well, back to work. I know it was short, but hey...beggars can't be choosers!!! jk Have a great week!

A Recap on Tuesday!

Well, if you have read my previous blogs, you would know that Caleb was given a chance to meet President Bush. Well, it didn't quite turn out as we thought it would, but it was still an awesome experience! Here goes...

Caleb called me and told me I could come too, so I jumped in my car and drove 3 1/2 hours to Fort Hood Monday night. Instead of it just being his Batalion or Company that was invited, it was the whole Fort...over 25,000 soldiers! and their families. We were told to be in formation @ 5:00 Tuesday morning, so given the fact that over 25,000 people are going to be trying to get to the same place as us, at close to the same time, we decided to get up @ 2:30, and leave by 3:15...and we were still nervous that we wouldn't make it through the gate and to formation in time. Well, we were wrong. We zipped right through that gate, and were there by 3:30. So, we waited...and waited. Others were there, so Caleb was constantly introducing me to new people. Everyone was extremely nice. They start lining up and meeting @ 5:00, and we didn't get moving until 5:30. (Now, what I didn't realize or wasn't informed about, was that it was going to be EXTREMELY COLD!!! and we would be walking everywhere!) So, I dressed up in my Sunday skirt and heals! And I was FREEZING! Not just a little chilly...no, my teeth were chattering, my toes and fingers were aching! It was miserable. But, I was a good little army wife and I didn't complain...but they knew I was cold and offered me a blanket...which would later be the envy of all the other army wives!!!

So, we march over to where we were to meet up with the rest of his company, or whatever you call it (I'm not too clued in to what is what)...and we stand around until 7:00. We then proceed to march to the field...yes, you heard me correctly...field, where the ceremony is being held. I thought it would be an auditorium or at least a stadium...with seats! Boy was I wrong. We get through the metal detectors and to our spots around 7:30. The President is not scheduled to speak until 10:00. So, until then we were entertained by country singers. It was a lot of waiting. I was told we could only bring our ID cards and a camera...NO BAGS! W

The Rest of "A Recap on Tuesday"

I was told we could only bring a camera and our ID cards...NO BAGS!!! What I didn't know is that you could bring a ziploc bag, filled with food, and chapstick, and whatever you might need while waiting! But, that was ok. They were handing out Nutrigrain bars, so I snagged two of them. Boy were they good!

When things finally started for real, everyone was beyond ready! They had a 12-year-old girl sing the National Anthem. She was awesome...as good as Mariah Carey...no joke! Caleb said it was one of the most awesome things he has ever seen...looking out to a field of over 30,000 soldiers and people saluting the American Flag.

The President came in on a helicopter. He circled the field, and everybody cheered and waved their American Flags...talk about a welcoming party!!! He landed, but didn't come out for another 30 minutes. But when he walked out, you would have thought Jesus had just entered His Kingdom. They played the Presidents music that is played whenever he enters a room. Talk about majestic! It was amazing. The cheers were so loud! It went on for forever! I have never been more proud to be an American!

He came to thank the soldiers for volunteering to serve their country. He thanked those who had been overseas. He thanked those who were about to go. He updated them on what they had helped accomplish over in Iraq. It was so neat! I felt special just being there...I can't imagine being a soldier and having your leader thank you and speak to you the way President Bush spoke to them! The whole speach didn't last longer than 30 minutes, but it was worth the wait. When he signed off with "...and God Bless America" a cheer arose. It was so loud. President Bush proceeded to shake the soldiers' hands who were around him. The soldiers were so eager to shake his hand, and it really seemed like he was eager to shake their hands. Unfortunately, Caleb did not get to shake his hand. But, he said that they made eye contact and that President Bush smiled at him! ( I know that sounds funny, but it was neat!)

After he left, it was like a madhouse trying to get out of there. I finally met back up with Caleb about 11:30. He was released for the day. So, we went and ate at Benigan's. I told myself that I had earned the right to order a Monte Cristo...I haven't had one in years! Luckily, I didn't eat the whole thing. We went back to the apartment and slept from 1:00 - 4:00. It was the best nap I had ever had! Then I had to head home.

Even though things didn't happen the way we thought they would, the whole experience was well worth it. Hopefully, someday, I will get to actually meet him and not just see him on the screen! Until then, I will do my best to be the best army wife I can be and support Caleb in all that he does.

Well, tomorrow is Friday and I get to see my hunny again. I hope you all have had a wonderful week and I hope to see you soon.

Caleb gets to meet his hero.............

Fun News!!! Caleb gets to meet President Bush!!! He is going to Fort Hood to speak, and Caleb got chosen out of 500 or 600 soldiers to represent his batalion! He will be one of 10-15 soldiers that will stand up on stage behind him. Caleb is so excited. President Bush is pretty much his hero! Caleb LOVES Texas. I mean, he is the most devout Texan that there ever was. And since President Bush is from Texas, and of course, he is the president, Caleb is ecstatic! I mean, wouldn't you be? It was scheduled for Friday, but since the Pope's funeral is tomorrow, they rescheduled it for next Tuesday. Please keep the President and all of the soldiers safety in your prayers next Tuesday. You never know what sick person could end up there. Although security is extremely tight, I mean unbelieveably tight. So, pray for them.

Alright, that's it for now! Hope everyone is doing splendid!

My Studly Son!

I forgot to mention in my last blog how handsome and studly my son looked at church on Easter. He had navy pants, with brown boots, a white short-sleeved button-down shirt with blue and lime green plaid stripes on it, and a lime green vest with navy trim. Man did he look sharp. I was so proud! And of course, he had his hair all done up by Aunt Beka! He is definitely not a baby anymore!

I sure do love to write about him! Hopefully, in the near future, I will put some pics up! I hope you all have had a wonderful Monday! Congrats to Rach for getting a (well-deserved) A on her paper! Woo Hoo! I'm so proud of her. She is doing great at Law School!

Well, I better go pick up Colton before he really starts to wonder where "Mommy" is! I love hearing him say that. Have a great day!

I Love Fridays!!

I know I haven't written in forever, but I actually have. I wrote on Tuesday, or maybe it was Wednesday, and I lost the entire thing. It was my longest blog EVER!...and of course, I just had to lose it!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend! Caleb was able to come in town. He got here Friday afternoon, about 3:30. Then, he and I picked up Colton from Mrs. Dianne's. That night we went to Kohls to get Caleb a few things and to look for me a skirt for Sunday.

Saturday was a busy day. That morning, our church had an outreach at the park. They had live music, a moonwalk, hotdogs and facepainting. It was so much fun. Colton got to play on the moonwalk for the first time. It was great! By the time that was over, he was pretty tired, so we went home and put him down for a nap. Caleb and I watched The Notebook while he was sleeping. I have been trying to get Caleb to watch it for forever! He was dreading it a bit, but ended up liking it! MEN! If he would've only trusted me sooner!

Saturday night, Caleb and I got to go on a date! I love Dates! We were planning on going to a late movie, so we had a couple hours to spend at dinner. We ate at Chuy's. It was wonderful. We sat outside. It was a bit chilly, but they solved that with outside heaters...talk about ROMANTIC! Our dinner was really good. And it was nice to spend time just the two of us, without having to rush! The movie was really good too! I LOVE DATES!

Sunday was the big finale of our weekend. We had church that morning. Jess, our Associate Pastor/Youth Pastor preached. It was really good. Our choir sang a special and my dad sang a special. I love when he sings. After church we went home and ate yummy dinner. Then...da da da daaaaaaaa...Colton had his first ever Easter Egg Hunt. We had to do it inside because it was really cold outside. At first, he just wanted to go outside, but then we showed him some of the eggs, and he really got into it. He found one egg at a time, put it in the basket and then went for another one. It was great! The big finale to his hunt was a huge egg from Mimi (my mom)...it had a stuffed Barney in it! He loved it! He loves Barney! How fun!

Then, us four girls had our hunt outside. My dad hid the eggs outside while we put our tennis shoes...mind you we were still wearing our Easter dresses/skirts! We looked hilarious! And guess who won?...............................ME! I beat Rach by one egg. She blamed it on Susanna cause she pushed Rach out of the way on an egg. Oh well, Finders Winners, Losers Weepers!!! We topped off our hunt with Easter Basket Cake. It was scrumptious!

Then it was a sad time...Caleb had to leave and Rach had to leave. But, we all had a wonderful weekend! I love Easter weekend! The traditions are what make it so much fun!

TRADITION.....TRA-DI-TION!!!

Don't you just love Fiddler on the Roof? I was reading my sister's blog, and she made me think of this! We are making an Easter Basket Cake...we make it every year! It's TRADITION!!! I love traditions, they make holiday's that much more enjoyable!

Anyway, Rach is coming for the weekend, as is Caleb! We are going to have such a great weekend! I don't know if/when we are going to take pics in the bluebonnets, but we shall see! Rachel's boyfriend, Derek, got a job with my company, but in Dallas. I am so excited for him. He is going to be a Sales Rep. And he'll make the big bucks...man, why can't the big bucks be in the title business! Oh, well! Not everyone can make the big bucks. Anyway, he just found out today, so we are all so happy for him. This is an answer to prayer! He starts May 2!

I thought I was going to have all of tomorrow off...well, I was actually hoping...but, we just have half day. I had wanted to go to Dallas for a suprise party, but I guess not! Which is fine! Now I don't have to drive to and from Dallas in the next 24 hours!

We have been very busy this week, trying to get things finished before tomorrow and then before the end of the month. It's been like a madhouse! But, we are all still sane! It's great!

I don't know if I will write again before the weekend, so I will wish you all a Happy Easter!

Good News and Bad News

Caleb called me last night with some bad news. He didn't pass one of his tests yesterday, so he was headed home. It stinks. I know he's so bummed to have gotten that far, just to be sent home. He said he will probably be over it next week. The good news is that he will have another chance at the badge. They are doing it again in June, and this time it will be at Fort Hood. He will now know what to expect, and will have a better chance at it. I am still so proud of him...1) for being given the chance to try for it...and 2) for getting as far as he did!

Colton has been a night owl lately. Last night, he was so tired...rolling all around the living room couches and floor. So, I put him to bed at 7:00...and he was OUT! Well, he woke up at 7:30 so my mom tried to put him back to bed while I went to work out. Well, I came home at 10:00 and what do you know....Colton is sitting on the kitchen counter helping Aunt Nanners make Ramon Noodles! He was laughing, knowing he was a toot for still being awake. So, I got an orange and shared some with him. He, Aunt Nanners, and I were making funny faces at eachother! Then, he went back to bed...at 11:00! He's such a toot. I had to wake him up this morning, but he was happy as can be! I LOVE THAT KID!!!

Well, I am looking forward to this weekend with my hunny! I miss him like CRAZY! Hope everyone has a great day!

Caleb passed another test!

Caleb called me early this morning (1:00...I told him to!) to tell me that he passed his test yesterday! This one was the one he was most worried about...Land Navigation. He had to do it during the day and then at night! He had been taught how to do it, but had never actually done it! So, now he has a test today and tomorrow and then the 12-mile road march on Thursday! Please keep praying! It definitely is a blessing!

Colton decided to wake up this morning at 2:30. Susanna was up with him for about 45 minutes before she brought him to me. So, I took him back to his room about 3:30 and he didn't go back to sleep until almost 4:45! Next time Susanna is just going to let him cry it out! He wasn't upset or wanting to play, he was just awake, kinda tossing and turning, but with his eyes wide open. He's so silly. He woke up this morning bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! If he has a dirty diaper, we say "shew-wee" and wave our hand big in front of our face like we are blowing stinky air away! Well, this morning, I didn't know he had a dirty until he waved his hand and said "woo-eee"! It was hilarious! He catches on so much, and so well! He ceases to amaze me.

Well, I better get to work. Have a great day.

Hello Again!

It's Monday again! Hooray!

I had a great weekend! Colton, Dad and I went to dinner Friday night. That was a nice little date with two of the three men in my life! Boy do I love and cherish time with every one of them!!! Colton and Papa have such a great connection! Colton searches for Papa, especially at church. It's precious! I love to watch them play...just the two. It's so special! Anyway, back to my weekend, after dinner and after Susanna got off work and after Colton went to bed...Susanna and I watched Little Black Book. Boy was that a suprise ending! I never saw it coming! Then Saturday, I got laundry done, dusted and vaccuumed downstairs, and did some baking for the missions bake sale at church. Colt and I got to take a nap together...always a wonderful thing! He and I went and visited Aunt Beka (Geka) at work. We got to eat lunch together. Saturday night, Jared came over and we all watched Vanity Fair. It was a real interesting movie. You have to WANT to watch it in order to stay interested! But, it was still good. And then yesterday, we had church, ate lunch, took a brief nap, and then I took Colton to the church and left him with Susanna so that I could go hang out with Lindsay! We had such a nice visit and chat. We talked with her mother for about an hour and then went to Panera Bread...my new favorite place! Lindsay is 12 weeks pregnant and had her first ultrasound today. I am so excited for her! She is going to be a wonderful little mama!

Caleb has been training last week for a special Medic Badge. He took his first test on Saturday and passed! Then he had his first hands on test yesterday and passed. He has his hardest one today, so please keep him in your prayers! He will have two more tests, and then on Thursday, he will have his final...a 12-mile road march that he must complete in 3 hours. He has done it before, so he knows he can do it! This badge is very hard to get. Only 10-15% of people who try for it get it, and usually they are higher ranked than Caleb. But, it is an honor to be able to try for it. I am so proud of him! He will be coming in town this weekend for Easter. I can't wait. And Colton will have his first-ever Easter Egg Hunt! But, he will have his own hunt! My sisters and I have a hunt every year. It is very competitive...and we wouldn't want to run over Colton! So, this weekend should be tons of fun!

Well, I guess that's it for now. I hope you all enjoyed my novel. Hope to talk to you all soon!

Wednesday, Wednesday!

I don't know why, but Wednesdays are my least favorite day...I dislike it even more than Monday! But, the good thing is it's the half-way mark between last weekend and this weekend!

Anyway, Rach and Derek have been in town this week. I haven't been able to hang out much, since I am a working girl and all. But, hopefully I will tonight! They are leaving tomorrow and I want to spend some time with them!

Colton got a haircut last night! He looks so different every time he gets a haircut. It's crazy. It's like he gets so much older everytime. It's kinda sad, but at the same time exciting! He is such a sweetie. He and my dad went to bed last night together. It was so cute...both in the same bed...having that special Papa-Colton time. I don't think they have ever done that. Oh, by the way, Colton cut a monster tooth. It's one of his molars, but it's twice the size of his other teeth. I didn't see it until I was getting him out of the carseat yesterday at the mall. It shocked me! I felt bad for getting on to him for fussing lately, but now I really know why. I mean, I knew he was working on those teeth, but now that I see the finished project, of only one, I understand the hard work that has been going into that tooth. Poor guy! He's such a trooper!

Well, that's it for now. I will update later. Gotta get back to work!

Why don't we get a Spring Break from Work?

Ok, what I don't understand is why are students the only ones with a Spring Break? I mean, we in the working world need a break, too! I think we need it more than they do! Well, oh well, at least we are making money, while they are spending it!!!

My weekend was wonderful! We had such a great time. Of course, Colton hammed it up the whole time! What's new with that! The weather was great! We were supposed to go to Fiesta Texas Saturday with another little family, the Roney's, but the dad got called into work. But, we still had a fun day. We went to Denny's for breakfast. Which was scrumptious! I love breakfast, so it was a treat for me! Then we went back to the house and slept for about 3 1/2 hours! It was so nice to just do nothing! Then, we went over to the Roney's house and barbequed! It was so good. They have a two-year-old little girl who is precious. She and Colton are kissing friends. It's hilarious. Then, Sunday we slept in till about 10:30, then lounged around. We ate lunch at Tia's Mexican Restaraunt. I Love Mexican Food!!!! Then, I had to go home about 4:00.

The whole trip was great! It was so good to see Caleb. And Colton was very good the whole weekend. My mom bought him two new Barney DVD's as an early Easter gift, and he wore them out this weekend. He loves Barney, now! It's great!

Well, I guess I better get to work. Rach and Derek are in town. We get to hang out some this week. And I can't wait for Lin to get in town!!!!! (hurry up!) Well, have a great day and leave me lots of comments! I love comments!

Weekend, Here I COME!!!

I am so glad it is FINALLY FRIDAY!!! This week has been so incredibly long. But, the weekend will be here in less than 2 hours. Colton and I are headed to Ft. Hood to see Caleb right after I get off work. I am so ready! We might be going to Sea World with another family tomorrow. Colton would love that. Well, I'm sorry this isn't a long one. I must get back to work. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Rach, see you Monday. Lin, see you sometime next week. Mom, see you after work!!! jk ADIOS!

BUSY! BUSY! BUSY!

You would think that since I sit at a desk all day in front of a computer that I could do a daily input on my blog. Well, I got news for ya! I have been earning my pay for the past three or four weeks. We are swamped at work. I have never wished that it wasn't 5:00 already, just so that I could finish my work. I mean, come on...that's insane!!! Well, I am guilty of it. And I guess it's nice, because the day goes by quicker, which means the week goes by quicker, and before I know it, it's Friday and time to go visit Caleb! Crazy, huh?!

Well, Colton has been impressing us lately with his "smartness". He has a Winnie The Pooh train set at Diane's house (the babysitter) and lately he has been putting the pieces together. What a smart kid. And then, last night at church, he was playing with this toy cup type thing that has about 7 cups that all fit inside of eachother gradually...does that make sense? Well, he put them all together several times last night. And the shocking part is that when he tried to put a big one inside one that is smaller, he didn't get frustrated like most of us would, he just switched them around. What a smart, patient kid! He sure didn't get the patience from my side!!

Well, that's my Colton news for the day. Colton and I are leaving for Fort Hood tomorrow after I get off work! We are so excited to see Caleb, and vice versa. It's been a long two weeks, especially since Caleb lost his cellphone last week, who knows how/where. So, we don't get to talk except when I am at work...thanks to the 1-800 #.

Well, I hope all of you are doing great! I can't wait to see you, Rach next week. And same to you, Lin! Next week is going to be so much fun!!! Hopefully I will get another blog in tomorrow. We'll see!!!

A Bit About What's Going On!

Well, if you have read my profile, you know a little bit about my life. Right now, Colton and I are living with my parents. Caleb is living in Fort Hood. We are deciding if I should look for a job there, so that Colton and I can move and live with Caleb. It's a lot of decisions, because Caleb is supposed to leave for Iraq in September or October, and I will probably want to move back to The Woodlands, with my family, so I would only be in Fort Hood for about 6 months. And I may not want to quit my great job that I have right now! So, please keep us in your prayers.

Colton is not a babe anymore. He is definitely a little boy, now. It's crazy! Thinking back to a year ago, he was just a babe with a babe personality. Now, he is like a real person. He knows what he wants and can tell me! He is talking like crazy. He can pretty much say anything, and he remembers most of it. But, don't worry, he hasn't said any bad words! But, he is cute! And he knows when he has pooped his diaper! It's hilarious. He either says "doo doo", "poo poo", or "uh-oh". That one's my favorite.

I will try and get some pics on here. I am learning every day on this thing! We'll see if I can figure it out. Well, hope you guys have a great day!

Life as a Blogger!

Well, I think it's high time I started my own blog. My best friend has one, my sister has one, I need one! Especially since I have so many exciting things going on. Well, bare with me while I am figuring this thing out!
